What Should I Wear?

Ever since the original wardrobe malfunction occurred in the Garden of Eden, people have been wondering what to wear when they meet with God. Fashions and styles, even in church, go in and out of vogue. A few years back hats on men at church were taboo while a head covering on women was expected. Neither tradition seems to matter today, yet the Bible says that some things never go out of style. In Colossians, the best dressed Christian is clothed with love and humility (3:12-14). Does your fashion make a statement when you attend church? Probably not. Many people dress to be noticed, but not remembered, yet at the end of the day it seems that few people notice and even fewer remember. Early on in Jesus’ public ministry He instructed His hearers to not spend too much time either thinking about what they are going to wear or worrying that they will have something to put on. The short answer to the question is, wear whatever you want and whatever you think is appropriate. We hope you will be modest, but the bottom line is that we hope you will join us. Church should never be a fashion show and at Fellowship Church you will never under-dress, hardly ever over-dress, and always be welcome if you have a heart that is naked before God.
